With Dr. Jinghua Liu and Dr. Keith Wright How do you predict how likely it is that a student will achieve academic success in their first year at your school? Learn more about the predictive power of the SSAT as an admission tool and its inherent strength as an assessment. Over the last year, we conducted a predictive validity study on the SSAT using data on over 20,000 students, provided by 59 member schools. The results demonstrated that the Middle and Upper level SSATs are valid predictors of first year GPA. The second study in this session examines the SSAT’s construct validity, a task that should be completed periodically to ensure fairness and also to establish a thorough understanding of content structure.
