Re-imagining Group Assessments

August 6, 2019
With Nancy Hayes, Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, New Canaan Country School; Jonathan Martin, Principal, JonathanEMartin Ed. Services & Mark Macrides, Director of Innovation and Design, New Canaan Country School Assessing applicants’ non-cognitive skills is increasingly recognized as an essential element of an effective admission process. After briefly reviewing how some schools are innovating in this practice, we’ll facilitate a design process by which participants will imagine and develop group assessment particularly suited to their school’s mission and values. Through the use of a rapid cycle design challenge, participants will generate early version prototypes that can be iterated further and used at their school, while also developing meaningful insights into the design thinking process itself.
